The phenomena called… YO YO Honey Singh

Few years back when I was in my hostel, somebody given me a single track of honey Singh to listen. I have been always a keen listener to soft songs and Ghazal’s but that song was a shocker for me. It was “cheap” that was what I called at that time and didn't listen to his song for long time.

Well few months back I check his few new songs which were suggested by friend and to my surprise I liked it this time. So what have changed in these few years in YO YO honey singh songs? Well as I can see in his style, music there has not much has changed but he has toned down his songs little bit to make is listenable to all. If you don’t know he is recently offered whopping 70 Lakhs for a single track in Bollywood song.
What led to such a rise of this Punjabi rapper in recent years?

Well answer is simple but yet twisted. His own unique style, he has created his own unique style in last few years. Take an example of his name also, nobody these day introduce him a “honey singh”, everyone says “YO YO Honey singh”. He has created his own identity by his own songs in last few years. I think he is only few available rappers in India and he is certainly one of the best in the business these days. He has won last four year best music directors from ETC Punjabi. His song brown rang and dope shope are among one of the most run songs in Delhi radio station. He is one the most happening thing in the Punjabi music.

His earlier songs video were never so much attractive than his song “Lyrics” and also his singing style, some time you need know what people want to listen. Now his songs video has got better and also his style has much better these days. He has created a niche listener of his own whom now idolizes him and also listens to his songs more than any other.

There is perfect saying for him, “you can love him or hate him but you can't ignore him”. I used to earlier not like him but now I don't hate him. I admire him for few things that he has done to Indian music scene. First of all he is self made man in the music Industry, he doesn't have any Godfather but now everyone knows him. I salute him for that, and face that he sung his most songs in Punjabi when he has choice of singing songs in English and other languages as well. I prefer to call him India “AKON” and end my piece of note with “YO YO honey Singh” signature tune.

My favorite Books.. day 4..

Gunhao ke Dewta:  This is one the book which I read whenever I feel low in my life. It is one of the classic books which everyone should read. The difficult part is that it is Hindi book which is difficult to tell people today to read them. They will say it is good, they have heard about it but in the end they will choose some good English book over the classic Hindi book.  The Characterization of each one was inch perfect and the end of book. A book from Allahabad and classic love story, if you love someone just read this book one time.

The kite runner: I picked this book while travelling in the bus from the station. After that I am not about forget about this book even a single day. The Hassan and baba jani, they all are like what we are today. Running away from our sins and trying to find the easy way out. I was not fan of simple narrative till the day I read this book.

The winner stand alone: This is Paulo book which I love the most. Each character has its own past to live with, they are struggling yet they want to win. The mad husband who wants his wife back, the wife who wants to run away with his love and backdrop of it is Cannes film festival. I read it only little time but it was a book which made me read more about dark story.

The discovery of India: This is the book which every Indian should read about. I am not sure why this book is not in the course book like others are. This book is what we need, a interactive way to teach history. Asking question rather than believing what we have been hearing from ages. Nehru style is as simple as it can be but it is much more interactive than the History book. I am big fan of his writing style as it ask some thoughtful question like this one, “When Buddha religion was born in India why it didn’t go to as much high as other, and it faded away without war”..
A must read in my opinion for every Indian.

I too had a love story: I know lots of people will be surprise that I am writing any big name but this book I loved most. A love story from heart rather than from pen, It all seems so real around next door character. Kushi, ravin and the rest of character are just as real as they are in life. Some time you love the books which has sad end and this is one of them.

Few more books which I like are Godan, Umrao jaan (In urdu), November rain, Jungle book, The Maalgudi days and list will be endless….

P.S.: Do read the first and last book mention because both are one of the best book of its kind.

Favorite TV shows.. Day 3

As I was growing up as a kid, I used to watch lots of TV shows at that time. But my option was limited at that time. I used to watch DD1 and DD Metro which was later converted into DD news. I didn’t have cable TV option in my childhood and I must say, I am glad for that. I played lot more outdoor, enjoyed with friends rather than watching cartoon as today kids do. So let’s start with my best TV shows:

JUNOON: I can never forget this TV serial. I don’t know how many of you would remember this but I loved the title track and also the story of this serial. Some time in life there is passion of something which you want to achieve, some brilliant actors. Dialogs were more famous that story and I loved it till today. “Koi Muflisi ka mara hua, Kisi ko adavat ka hai junnon”….

Neem Ka Paid: This was based on the book of Rahi masoom raza, as I belong from the family of this culture of Zamindar. I used to love this TV shows, again the title track in the voice of Jagjeet singh, “muuh ki baat sune har koi, dil ka dard na jaane koi”. The Character of Budiaya, Nawab sahib and the changes depicted by Neem ka paid. This was the truly a classic story of India at that time after British period.

Shaktimaan: How could I miss this one in my list, it could have been the first one but I am going the order. This was the first superhero of our generation which was India. There was Nagraj, Doga in the comics but Shaktimaan was the first one on the television. I still remember due to its telecast timing on Saturday the attendance used to be low. I too skipped much time school on Saturday to watch shaktimaan. My faviorate dialog was from “Chooti-2 par moti baatie” was, “SORRY SHAKTIMAAN”…

Rangoli/Chitrahaar: This was the original source in my childhood where I used to watch songs. The Sunday morning with Rangoli and Wednesday evening with Chitrahaar was the best time I used to have. Today I have option of 30+ music channels but still I miss the craze of Sunday morning Rangoli when I was kid.

This one I missed on is Ye jo hai Zindagi. I watched it later on DD Metro but still I loved it.

After that the cable TV came up in our home. Initially I loved all the new things but there was no show which excited me at that time. There where shows like Kareena-2 I liked due to its comedy nature, then in English there was friends, there was Srubhi on DD. I am missing so many of all the favorite shows that I need to write few more post. But above listed one is the best one I had in my childhood. I am not sure how many would remember any one them apart from Shaktimaan but still those one where the best.

P.S.: I missed the WWE or say WWF fights in it. My favorite one was Edge, “You think you know me…”
