Sachin and only sachin

I didn’t watch the single ball in the last match which sachin played; I don’t even read news about it. Somehow I feel this series was set us by BCCI telling him to take a gracefully exit from the cricket. I don’t like that part, especially about the cricketer whom from my early age I have seen doing impossible acts. He has been only reason why most people follow cricket most of time, I remember a time when our whole match used to depend on sachin, once sachin is out we used to shut our tv or used to think we would lose match.

Sachin was not special because of his records, one day his record will be broken but no one else will get the place the sachin has taken in our hearts. Some people have that magic in them that they make everything special, when everyone else used to defend in one day cricket he used to play shot. That time people who play shot used to be said a pitch hitter or not a proper cricketer, he was special in that sense because he used to play proper cricketing shot and deliver the goods for the team. He each century is always been helping cause for team, but I agree with this notion that he has never won team more matchs.
As a cricketer has was one of the most gifted player of all the time, he is like Pele and Marodona of football, people will come and go but there status will not change. They are like god of that sports and sachin is more than god of cricket. He may not be first to be called the best, but he has redefined the sports in a way which only history will remember.

Sachin magic started to fade from me when I started to play football in school, and that time I just swapped my icons in sports as well. No longer was my life restricted to sachin, I don’t care about the sachin score, his century and his records. Sachin is one of those players who have touched our life in an unsaid or unexplained way. He might be gone, but story surrounding his life will live on.

Ideally I should be sad that he has retired, but in reality I am happy that he has retired. He is just filled so many colors in our life by his runs and wicket that those memory will live on.

P.S.: I was more worried on the day Bhutia retired because I was worried about india future in football, but in cricket I know Indian future is secure, even though I don’t follow cricket now.

Goliyo ki Raasleela… RaamLeela

This was one of those movie from which I had no expectation, I watched it because my friends wanted to watch it. This movie is based on Famous Romeo and Juliet, so the climax part is already known to me (I hate sometime sad ending). Sanjay Leela Bhansali lived up to his already created expectation, his set, music and colors of movie were superb. I think after black and Sawariya this is one of most colorful movie for a change. But he just missed on the emotional part, emotion was less in the movie.

I am not going to tell you what is the story of movie, but in short movie is based on love of Ram and leela. There love which is not acceptable to their respective family and villagers, but somehow they fell in love and rest thing just happen in film. Movie had the entire element, but it never connect with me on emotional level. For example the leela character played by deepika was really not very well written at times, she has done a wonderful job in acting in the movie, but there is some part like why an independent girl will start acting like a dumb lover girl, I am failed to understand that. Emotionally there were too many loop holes in the character of the Leela. She could have taken the movie to next level but here the director has not made the smart choice. I am really start feeling our movies are not showing strong women character who are independent.

Ram, Ranveer character has so many basic flaws that you could not ignore that. His entry scene was good, but the movie focused more of his 8 abs than his emotional level. This movie could have been so much different, if the emotional IQ of this movie would have been little stronger. His comedy timing has been great, his action scene has been good, and in emotional scene he has done good, but director never take it to different level. The scene which Raam and leela meet, you could see the basic flaw of movie, there are biggest enemy, they all use FB, Phone and Internet, yet they have not seen him. If you are making a movie based on Romeo and Juliet, people should cry when they die, but people think finally it happens. Second half was really a letdown for me.

The only Good character in the movie which was picture perfect was, Baa. She just filled the screen when she was on the screen. I loved her role so much; the only character which was flawless, and what a performance given by the Ratna Ma’am, Hats off.

I know what you people might think; this is one time watch movie, not more than that. I expected more from sanjay, yet it reminds me of Devdas, a complete package but lack on the emotions. Movie only make me emotional for 10 min. that is too less for a love story based on Romeo and Juliet.

P.S.: This movie can be only watched for Deepika, She has given a powerhouse performance in the movie. I think right now she is just the biggest star in the female leading lady. The writer famously said, what is in name, but in India it is all in the name.

East Bengal: Review of the season till now

I always said on my blog last year, I am worried about the stage when Mr. Morgan will leave East Bengal, and this season proved me right. This is most complete squad of East Bengal, but not the right man in the start of season. For me personally, bringing Coach like Flapo was always a danger and it proved right. He got the expectation of East Bengal, who are expected to win every game there fan, and even more so spoilt by Mr. Morgan in last few years. He was never given the time to settle in the Indian football by media, He was always compare to Mr. Morgan, in which he failed but it was not his fault, it is fault of club. I will come to that point later.

Let me first say, The AFC cup performance of East Bengal was the highlight of the season. I think tactical genius of flapo won the Quarterfinal for us, but in semi we were outplayed by the superior club. But I was satisfied by the performance of the team. I hope this year they can get in AFC cup, because now the player is better equipped to play away from home as they are now used to it. I hope they can get better this season.
Getting rid of Flapo was not the smart move, but appointing him at first place was the wrong more for me. If you have seen in last few years, Morgan has developed him team by choosing player for his team, but flapo was never given that chance. I think that led to his downfall. He might be great coach, sometime it doesn’t work out as we want. East Bengal has to be patient with their next coach, because it will take time to get used to team and player. That is why I think it was smart move to appoint Almando, he know Indian football better than anyone, he is just a great coach and also he has won I league, a missing piece from east Bengal jewel from few years. I hope he win it for east Bengal, win against Mohan Began has kicked start the season for east Bengal.

What impressed me about east Bengal in last few season has been how they have handled the transfer window, Inflow and outflow of player. They have maintain the core of squad same for last few years, and also the young player in squad are quite good. They will do better as the season will progress, but one player which impressed me most is Lalrindika Ralte, he has been star in East Bengal. The goal he has scored this season is class apart. I think he is just 21 year old; he is one of brightest start of India not for east Bengal. The core of east Bengal squad remain same, they have just made the squad better. I hope they don’t chop and change next season also.

I am east Bengal fan, but I hate when east Bengal chop and change too much in a season. But being Chelsea fc and EBFC you realize that loosing in that club, means end of word. So the expectation is to win every match.
