Reservations in CORPORATES..

From past some time, I heard about from my buddies regarding a trend followed by most of Big and Small Companies now days. This trend is basically what we called:

REFERENCE

Reference,,, this term seems very little,, but plays a very big role in Corporate and Candidates life. This trend comes in the market in recent times,, but its effect is very big. Earlier, this trend was followed by big giants only of different fields like Infosys, TCS, Wipro etc. but now almost all big and small companies are now following their footsteps. Even, Startup Companies also prefers to hire candidates on the basis of reference.

Let me explain, “What is Reference in my Knowledge?”
According to me, “Reference is basically a Jack or Guarantee, which an existing candidate in an organization give it for the other person during (whom he/she refer) the Selection procedure within that company about his background, nature and skills etc. “
( May be I’m wrong to explain it correctly,, but never mind about that.. At least, it’s my own definition, not the Google one… J ).

Earlier, reference was started for the companies to make them ensure about a candidate for second opinion from the existing one. This reference plays a role of trust factor for companies to new joiners.
But, now a days this trust factor becomes a Curse factor to most of the intelligent people, i.e. big companies either hire the candidates from Campus directly or they will hire the candidates internally by the help of reference of existing employees. So, the major issue behind this is, sometimes few intelligent candidates who are not selected during interviews or they have less percentage in earlier exams couldn’t get the jobs in these companies because most of them don’t have this so call REFERENCE on those companies.

So, the consequences of that are:
(A)   They got frustrated and some of them surrender themselves for a low salary or for over qualified job.
(B)   As, most of the companies don’t hire fresher’s in off campus, so this will also increase the problems of candidates.
(C)   The result for this is Intelligent are struggling and Losers are enjoying. This means sometimes less qualified people will get a good job due to reference and more qualified can struggle due to this trend.

I heard a very funny thing from my friend about the reference. He said, “I don’t have tension to pass my course. The only thing I am searching for connections in different Companies because companies hire on reference basis not on performance basis in the present scenario.”

At the end, I would like to brief that, Reference is a good thing if it can be use in a significant and careful manner. Misuse of it, will cause such types of problems as mentioned above.
Corporate should also understand their responsibilities towards society and give fair chance to every candidate. This will create a proper balance in the society and worth use of education also.

Rukhsat.... The farewell party of 2008-2010 IEC MBA Batch

In the summers of 2010 when I was in first year we gave our senior a memorable farewell in the college. I saw this video in the YouTube posted by our senior with lots of memories. It is different to see how we where few year back. :)

Few things that I will always remember about that day.....

1. The memorable party, I was almost absent in all the preparation of the party and came back on the last day. but one thing I am proud of is the name Rukhsat was suggested by US. Till the time IEC MBA farewell is there, It will be the name of the farewell party. :)
2. My Interaction with senior was quite less, I knew most of them but not actively talked to them. Again I want to praise my self that due to my semester result everyone knew me. On farewell day they even gifted us a nice key chain. I do have that key chain with me till date. ( Thanks for that sweet gift).
3. The dance of Riyanka Ma'am, Well that all I can say. We were fortunate to have witness her beautiful dance on that day. She was my Exam mate type, Her roll no and mine roll no was used to come on same bench. So I used to sit with her in internal exams.
4. Devopmam Ma'am topper of our senior, Ronny sir, Harendra sir ( With his rocking dance on TWIST song). There are so many thing I am missing right now.
5. Paper dance was one the biggest controversy in our farewell party. The dance was not concluded in the end, it has to be stopped by our HOD. but still we all enjoyed that dance as well.

P.S.: I am just randomly picking up the part of our rukhsat so I missed so many people out there. Please don't be feel bad because I missed it.

Versus

From past some time, I have tried to write something but nothing interesting I have seen to write. Then, I have observed one thing which I want to discuss.

Versus…………..

I hate this word and don’t want to be in my life but knowingly-unknowingly it comes in my life and even other’s life as well. It is like a synonym of “Comparison “to whom I against every time.
Almost, all of us can go through with this situation at least once in our life. This word affects little and big things of our day to day life. For ex – ‘Boys v/s Girls’, ‘Love v/s Friendship’, ‘Pass v/s Fail’, ‘India v/s Pakistan’, ‘Rich v/s Poor’, ‘Maruti v/s Toyota’ etc….

We use to compare all things in our surroundings with each other and get tense ourselves. Although, I accepted this fact, that with the help of comparison, sometimes it creates positive impact on a person’s life as he/she becomes motivate to perform at its best. But most of the times, it shatters a person’s confidence and think him/her a useless fellow.

Now, some people can say that those people are Losers, who don’t have the capability to sustain in such pressure. For this, I want to share a saying which I saw somewhere. That saying was:

“If you expect from a Fish, that she can climb a tree,
Then for her whole life, she thinks herself as Stupid…”

With the help of this, I want to say that no one is perfect in every task. If one is stupid in studies, then may be he/she will be genius in Sports, Music or have any other talent. Also, youth compare themselves from their friends or some other higher person with them, like he/she has expensive clothes, shoes and bags or his salary package is higher than me, he scores more than me in exams etc. but never sees the effort of that person to reach at that level.

So, at last if we can remove this word VERSUS from our life, then more than half of our problems will remove because it looks very small but its effect can be very big.

Either we should work hard to fulfill our ambitions, otherwise stop comparing ourselves from others.

My Planning for Eid

Before I say anything, first wish me happy Eid as I am going on short break so will not be accessible for some day. You need to wish if you want to have any chance of getting SEWAI from my side. J

Well finally I am beaming with happiness; I have reached the day when I will leave for my home to celebrate Eid with them. Eid happiness can’t be matched by any other thing in my life. Before I sigh off I have so many work left with me to do and yet so little time is there with me. This time I have made a small list which I am going to follow up while I am in the home so that it can be organized trip. Well there are so many things but only few will be getting listed here.
  1.  Shopping: Usually this is the last in my priority list but this time it is on my priority list number one. I have not done shopping for Eid and more so not for this month. Well I am so lazy in shopping that I let the all discount go by and now I am feeling the heat of not buying something.
  2.  Ramazan Iftar party: This is one thing which I miss in the Delhi in Ramazan. When I am at home we used to have Iftar party where all of use to enjoy the Iftar. Iftar is time when we all end our fast for day. I miss the Jalebi, the sweet dishes and also the chaat. Well I can’t wait to get my hand on all of these things.
  3.  Meeting friends: Well usually we all meet in the Eid party but this time I also want to meet them before and after it as I am on extended leave.
  4.  Eidee: Well this is the thing for which I used to wait for Eid for whole year. Still I get money from my mom and nani but now my outflow has grown much more than inflow. As there are younger in my family now and I am older now. L
Well this is a small list which I made but more I am keeping secret. Well I hope this Eid bring happiness in all of us life. Don’t forget to wish me Happy Eid in advance.

P.S.: For first time I am feeling so happy, “Main kuch hoo aaaj khaa maa khaaaa”…J

Searching my philosophy of life

Recently one of my friend asked me, What is your philosophy of life? I could not answer him at that time.  I thought hard but there was no definite philosophy of life at this time. It is like living a life without knowing what I am going to do it.

Few years back when I was in college there was definiteness about my thought, philosophy of life. How to live life, stay and what I want from life. But in recent years there have been lots of incident in my life which have affected me and my thought process. Either it has been friend’s relationship, breakups and or some melody drama of friends. All of these have left some impact on my thought process which is now at a crossroad. I have lost that clearness of outline which it once processed in mind.

My early approach in life has been always been simple. I just solve the problem as it comes in life, never thought about the life that will come up later. It was like live in this movement. But in last few years my thought has been influenced by the people who live me with me, friends, and family, at some extent religion also. Now my thinking is not as simple as it used to be after I joined the job. The innocence in my thought process is lost I think.

Now coming back to my philosophy point, it is doesn’t get in any person in just one day or say month. It is always influenced by your early life. Every person life goes through some philosophical changes over the year starting from his childhood. In childhood our philosophy is influenced by our family and religion. At that time these two are most important thing which influences your thinking about all the right and wrong in life.

In you teenage or say college life you the most important life you live mostly with friends. Here you are mostly influenced by the group or the friends you have in life. They somehow make you think about the way to live the life. Either it is about bunking the class or studying overnight in the home. Apart from that Movies also affect your thought process over the period of time.

Then you reach to you career life. Where your thinking process gets a 360 degree spin, what you have believed till life and what the life is practice at that time. All you love, life and dreams is about take a toll on your thought process. You will do what you belief but it will not take you anywhere in life.  It is a mid life thought process crisis where you are not sure about what you are doing is right or not. You start to listen to every other person and think he knows more than you about life because he lives better life than you.

I am not sure about my future and how my philosophy will shape up but one thing is sure, each day of life is leaving a mark on this deep thinking process. Either it is good or bad but they all influence by them. Some time even a bad though fascinates me about why there is so much fuss about it, when everything is so simple in life.

May be future will have some more positive impact on me about love and life. I am just searching all these facts which are hidden somewhere in life. I don’t realize but my philosophy of life is changing by each day.

Why can’t there be a simple relationship called “FRIENDSHIP”

I am sick and tired of hearing a filmy dialog, “A boy and a girls can never be only FRIENDS”. Why, because they are never given chance to be friendship or it is some other thing. As a girl I can tell you few things which are becoming Intolerable for us.

When you meet any boy or man, he will start with a simple and plain nature that we only want to be good friends but few months later you will find out that now he is in love with you. Now things will not end here they will go on to explain things you about hours how they feel, how much they want you even if you are “NOT INTRESTED”. Just like girls don’t have a choice, well Mr. dude get something on your brain which is filled with only cricket and girls that we do have our brain and heart and we will make the choice as we want not as you want.

Even if they will agree to be your friend again, then they will give you the most problematic period. They will start asking you question like, where are you?, with whom you are?, why can’t you talk?, why can’t you message? I don’t like your friends don’t talk to them and list will go on. Please give me a break, it’s my life and I know how to live it. I don’t need security guard what I need is friend who can understand rather that just keep telling me what to do and what not to do.

It is strange in this male dominated society that if a girl talks to 4 boys she might be termed as bad. But if a boy talks to 4 girls either he is caring or he is dude. Just sick with mentality, even in the college most of them will look for getting mingle rather than being good friend.

Being a friend is always the last option in the boys list, they don’t like it. “JUST FRIEND” tag they hate to wear, but sometime you need to know that not every relationship where there is love and care is of love. Some time it is of friends, family and others. The best relationship you can have is friend but if he deserve to be. I sincerely hope this friendship day there realize it and try to be “FRIENDS”.

P.S.: I am not against thought of being falling in love, but against being falling for every girl which you see. This part is based on one of my close friend life who is sick of ROAD SIDE ROMEO…

Friendship day: A day of friends....

Well every year first Sunday there is friendship day is celebrated. I was curious how the friendship day was started and by whom it was started. But there are very few piece of information available regarding its origin. Some say it is again a marketing thing to sell more in the festive period as in west there are lack of festivals. But we Indian never lack occasion to celebrate. Well here is the piece of note on friendship day Origin.

Friendship Day celebrations are held on different dates in different countries of the world. The first World Friendship Day was proposed on 30 July 1958 in Paraguay. On 27 April, 2011, the General Assembly of the United Nations declared 30 July as official International Friendship Day. However, in India, Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August.

Friendship Day was originally proposed by Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards in 1919, intended to be the first Sunday of August and a day when people celebrated their friendships by sending cards. The first Sunday in August was chosen as the center of the largest lull between holiday celebrations but it faced consumer resistance, given that it was rather too obviously a commercial gimmick to promote greetings cards.

The side effect of RAKSHABANDAN

If there is any festival in India which boys hate, then that would be “RAKHI” or “RAKSHABANDHAN”. This day you would find boys running away from girls, lowest attendance in school and college. In office also you will avoid the girl whom you don’t want to be rakhi brother. Well this is a quite a fear of any festival in India. I am fortunate to already have two sisters so I never want to have rakhi sister.

Well in that case I remember one of my friends, Jayant singh. He was student of RSS run school from 5 to 12th class. So every in Rakhi girls of his class used to tie him Rakhi and then used to pledge they will treat them as there sister. (Now we all know why our Jayant is still single). When your school life is so doomed that you have to think every girl of your class as a sister then nothing else left in life. Even I never used to say the prayer, “All Indian is my brother and Sister”. Come on man, if all are my sister then who I will marry. So we used to skip that part in our school also.

The girls will love this opportunity, to give a heart attack to boys. One of my close friend who had a crush on a girl for last 2 years. One day the girl called him and said to meet her in college canteen. He was in cloud 9 to meet her. But when he came back his face was like crying and killing someone in Hostel. We all asked him what happened, then he told us, “She called me to tell me that, there are rumors in college that you are my boyfriend so I want you to be my Rakhi brother. Please say yes as this is very important to me”. And we all were seeing his had with rakhi tied in it. After that incident he is sacred to meet any girl in the canteen. That is the effect of Rakhi in life I think.

I have so many incidents where boys have suffered due to this festival. Let’s hope we all remain safe this festival. I and Jayant have decided to remain in the office for whole day to avoid any type of disturbing call of “BEING BROTHER”. Well at least it protects you from this incident.

Think about this what if you are planning to propose the girl you like but before that he tie you Rakhi. Ahh!! Worst case that could happen to anyone, my only hope is that all Boys remain safe this RAKHI.

Tera emotional Attayachar....

P.S.: But the person who doesn’t have sister has something missing in his life.

Premchand… The lost Upanays Samrath

Today when I opened my facebook and seen people saying happy birthday to Munshi Premchand, I aksed myself how many of us know the Original name of Munsi Premchand. I can bet not many of us even know his original name, why his name was Premchand and what he did at that time. I also came to know all of these from an unknown book shop owner few years back.

Few years back I was at book stall in Allahabad where I was looking for a good English novel, in the end I could not find any as it was filled with Hindi or the best selling English novel, which I have already read most of them. It is always hard to spend time in railway station when train is late about 7 hours. One of the book stall owner suggested me a book, “Sir, Please read GODAN of Nawab Rai”. I always knew GODAN was written by Premchand but never knew heard of Nawab Rai. I asked him, “Who is Nawab Rai, any new Indian author”. He saw me looking puzzled and replied with smile in his face. “Saheb, you never heard of Nawab Rai. This is the name which Premchand pick up while writing and all his urdu collection is by this name only. Later when British ban his book then he picked up name “Premchand”, which is more famous. Strange Saheb, when your own people forget you. Then why would other will read your books”.

He was a small book seller in the railway station but his Literature knowledge was more than mine. I picked up that book and start reading it, “GODAN”. People say Godan is one of the best novels written by Premchand which I disagree. It becomes more famous than others because it was his last novel before he died. If you give GODAN to any youth or urban India, he might not be able to relate with novel because of his backdrop and the symbolic and mind struggle shown in the novel. For them it is hard to understand why does COW is so important in that time. But one thing which you can always relate to is emotions. Human emotion in the novel can’t be matched by anyone else. I completed the book in one go and till end I was not thinking only one thing why this novel is not so much recognized by our self.

Premchand was true symbol of Indian society and brotherhood at that time. The main language he used in his entire famous novel was simple and mix of Urdu and Hindi. After that I read most of his novel available. But one thing I always wonders why he is not being getting so much recognition. He could have been poster boy of Indian Literature but yet he is still remembered by few of his followers who are in tie 2 and tier 3 cities.

Next day when I arrived in Delhi I straight gone to a book stall and asked him if he has any book of Nawab Rai. He replied, “Saheb, there is no author by such name”. I could not locate any book of his in store. I smiled and moved on to my destination and while I was in metro I just thought one sher..

“Hume bhulane wale to bahut hai zamane me,
Par kuch karne walo ne zinda rakhi h meri jaan ko”

P.S.: He was best author India has ever seen, who can touch the masses with his writing not the classes which will give you only awards and rewards….
